Daffodils aplenty

The daffodils are everywhere now in the hedgerows of the Roseland. I found a fabulous patch of snowdrops just above the beach at Rosevine last week and now they have been joined by the first of the primroses. Even on the Roseland there are microclimates – The Nare and St Just in Roseland church have had camellias out since early January but ours in the garden are only just starting to flower.

Catkins are out everywhere now and the green leaves of the bluebells are pushing up through in the woods at Turnaware.

Everyone has lost a few plants this winter as the frosts have lasted for so long, but at least they keep the weeds at bay! We have a few gaps that we are looking to fill over the next couple of weeks, before our first guests arrive to the newly renovated cottages.

    Hello Sandi & Neil

We’re coming to the end of what has been a pretty stressful and tiring refurbishment programme – mentally rather than physically tiring. The guys have done a super job – just the inevitable final snags to get sorted before we open again on 26th March.

Hope all is not too wintery with you in Wiltshire – we think we have escaped relatively lightly with the snow etc etc.

    Best wishes

    B&M 🙂
