Empty Beaches

Porthbean beach last night at 6pm – glorious sunshine and no – one there except me and the dogs and a couple of cormorants drying their wings on the rocks. It was the same the night before at Towan and the night before at Turnaware. There are definately less people around than last year, even St Mawes is fairly quiet.

Fortunately we are busy, but we think the petrol scares, the weather forecasts and the general gloom and doom in the press is keeping people at home this year.

The good news for our guests is that it’s delightfully peaceful and relaxing and actually the weather has not been too bad – don’t listen to those forecasts – there are only two weather stations in Cornwall now and they are at Camborne and Bodmin – and where is the bad weather usually – yes on the higher ground – so we all get a gloomy forecast and the the sea breezes give us on the coast lovely sunny days!

So if you are looking to stay we have a few days available in the B&B in June and July and one week left in The Carthouse in July, get booking and don’t worry about it being too busy.
