Roundhouse Barns shortlisted for three Cornwall Tourism Awards 2015

Bed & breakfast Roseland

The lounge in our new B&B Suite – shortlisted for Best Bed & Breakfast in the 2015 Cornwall Tourism Awards.

We’re off to an awards ceremony later this week after being shortlisted for three awards in this year’s Cornwall Tourism Awards.

We found out a couple of weeks ago that we’re finalists in Cornwall’s 2015 Tourism “Oscars”  for both the best self-catering accommodation and best bed and breakfast. We’ll know on Thursday evening whether we bag Bronze, Silver or Gold Awards.  We also found  out that we received a Highly Comended in the “Sustainable Tourism” category – which just goes to show that a business like ours can offer luxury accommodation and be environmentally friendly as well.

We’ve been welcoming guests to Roundhouse Barns for 8 years now and with big changes this year, including our new B&B Suite and launching a new website, it’s great to know the judges think we’re still one of the best accommodation providers in Cornwall.

What’s even more heartening to see is we’re the only holiday cottages and B&B business on the Roseland to make the shortlist. We know how hard our friends in the industry work and to make the shortlist among such fierce competition is a testament to the quality and luxury we provide.

We’re open all year round, offering short breaks through the winter and in the shoulder months as well as longer stays through the summer. Right from the start our ethos has been centred around providing our guests with uncomplicated luxury in a peaceful and tranquil setting so they can escape, unwind, relax and enjoy the natural beauty of this stunning part of the world.

The awards have seen an increase to 24 categories in the competition, reflecting the ever-increasing diversity of the industry. They have also seen an increase by 18% to 172 entries from across the Cornish tourism industry. Successful businesses in the Cornwall Tourism Awards will be fast tracked into the South West Tourism Excellence Awards in February 2015 and possibly invited to represent Cornwall in the National VisitEngland Awards later in 2015 – something we were lucky enough to do back in 2012.

The awards take place on Thursday, November 12 at the Headland Hotel in Newquay. We’ll let you know how we get on and we’ll keep you updated through the evening on our Twitter feed.

Wish us luck!
