It’s not often that our post lady brings us mail that makes us dance around the kitchen clapping our hands and giving it the high fives… But that’s what we did on Thursday.
Barney was his normal protective self, barking like a good-un when our Postie arrived. She so hates dogs and he so knows that – it’s his daily sport.
With one hand Barbara wrestled Barney away from Postie’s half open window and collected the post with the other.
There was the normal postal humdrum… junk mail, bills and a vaguely official looking brown envelope…. The brown one was immediately consigned to the shelf for opening later in the day. The rest was either binned or filed.
So, over lunch we gave the brown envelope the once over – postmarked Truro. Can’t be our friends from the Inland Revenue – those love ditties come from St Austell. Come on, let’s open it we say to each other…
Hmmm, nice headed paper we thought…. it’s from Visit Cornwall. A quick scan read and we realised that we’ve been shortlisted for in the Cornish Tourism Oscars for Website of the Year. So we trek off to the Headland Hotel in Newquay on 16th October for a dinner and the awards ceremony along with many other tourism providers in Cornwall….
Watch this space for more information – what will Barbara wear?… How much will it cost (ouch). Will Mark’s DJ still fit him? Can he remember to tie the bow tie. Will he dare to wear his gastly MCC dickie bow in an attempt to save money if Barbara splashes out on a new posh frock.
Life can be so complicated on The Roseland.
